Brewery Tour

What should you expect on our brewery tours?
One, going to the two sake storehouses, one old, one new (about 20 min.) Two, sake-tasting in a shop out front of the brewery, try Kanzui, the super-soft pure water that goes into local sake. (about 10 min.)Tours available in English. Reservation is needed! Please fill out the information on the form below. We have several guest rooms available upon reservation. Please indicate on the form whether you will be staying at the brewery.

Come to Kanzui, Hokkyu. Feel the atmosphere of a traditional brewery and beautiful nature surroundings.

By car

  • ◎Approx. 30 min. from Okazaki I.C. on the Tomei Expressway
  • ◎Approx. 30 min. from Toyota-Matsudaira I.C. on the Tokai-Kanjo Expressway

By public transportation

  • By Sasayuri Bus/ approx. 40 min. on the “Shimoyama district line” from Okazaki Genkikan-mae. Please tell the bus driver you will be getting off at “Shibata Brewery” when boarding the bus. The bus will stop near the brewery.
  • ※The Sasayuri Bus operates only on weekdays. Please confirm the Okazaki City website for details regarding other community buses in the Nukata district.

Starting tour from old sake storehouse in the Meiji period.

Kurabito (Sake brewer) will explain the brewing processes.

Thinking back to the Meiji, Taisho, Showa, and Heisei period.

Kanzui (God’s water in Japanese) and sake tasting at the shop. This will help you to tell how the taste of sake differs according to type of rice and brewing methods.
