Message from the President of Shibata Brewery

Sake has many faces from the start of the brewing process. At the very beginning, in what we call the tarekuchi stage, it has a fresh, slightly fizzy flavor. That same sake, made in the winter, only deepens in flavor as the season turns from summer to fall. Sake has many personalities, some are quick to develop and are shipped out right away, some must be aged for one or two years before their flavors develop in full. Some require a little extra care, but if given time, settle into their flavor. As President of the Shibata Brewery, it is my duty and profound joy to deliver sakes of the highest quality in all their varieties to our customers.

  • Approx. 30 min. from Toyota-Matsudaira I.C. on the Tokai-Kanjo Expressway

By public transportation

  • By Sasayuri Bus/ approx. 40 min. on the “Shimoyama district line” from Okazaki Genkikan-mae. Please tell the bus driver you will be getting off at “Shibata Brewery” when boarding the bus. The bus will stop near the brewery.

※The Sasayuri Bus operates only on weekdays. Please confirm the Okazaki City website for details regarding other community buses in the Nukata district.
